چکیده
affeine, 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine, is among the most frequently inested pharmacologically active subtances in the world. 1 Caffeine can eadily cross the placental barrier to the etus; its clearance is prolonged in pregant women, and its metabolism rate is ow in the fetus because of low levels of nzymes. It may also influence cell deelopment through increasing cellular yclic adenosine monophosphate concentrations and decrease intervillous placental blood flow via increasing circulating catecholamines. Therefore, caffeine could have an adverse effect on fetal development. Indeed, caffeine intake has been reported to increase the risk of miscarriage. Although numerous studies on maternal caffeine consumption and the risk of miscarriage have been published since the 1980s, the effect of caffeine intake on the risk of miscarriage remains controversial because of methodological limitations in past studies. 10 Many studies have relied on retrospective information, which is subject to recall bias. 8,11,12

Caffeine consumption and miscarriage: a prospective cohort study.
Caffeine consumption has been equivocally associated with miscarriage, despite an absence of prospective longitudinal measurement of caffeine intake during sensitive windows of human development. In response to this critical data gap, we analyzed daily caffeine consumption while attempting pregnancy through 12 menstrual cycles at risk for pregnancy and found that caffeine consumption did not in...

Background: The objective of this study is to evaluate the progesterone level (P Level) on the day of HCG triggering in GnRh agonist and antagonist protocols, and its correlation with clinical pregnancy rate and miscarriage rate. Premature luteinization during in vitro fertilization (IVF) was commonly happened before the introduction of GnRh analogues. High level of unwanted progesterone that i...
متن کاملCaffeine and miscarriage risk.
BACKGROUND Coffee and caffeine have been inconsistently found to be associated with increased risk of clinical miscarriage-a potentially important association given the high prevalence of exposure. METHODS Women were recruited before or early in pregnancy and interviewed regarding sources of caffeine, including assessment of changes over the perinatal period. We identified 2407 clinically-rec...

Many adverse pregnancy outcomes differ by race. We examined the association between self-reported race and miscarriage (pregnancy loss at <20 weeks) in a community-based pregnancy cohort. Women from the southeastern United States (North Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee) were enrolled in “Right from the Start” from 2000 to 2009. They were recruited while trying to conceive or during early pregnanc...
